Fourth Annual Las Vegas Intertribal PowWow
Sam Boyd Stadium – Veterans Day Weekend 2007

2008 Clark County Fair
Logandale, Nevada

Fairs are not just about rides, corn on the cob, funnel cakes or BBQ beef sandwiches. Education is also a huge part too!

Our participation in this year’s fair was very rewarding. We were able to educate fairgoers on the plight of the Wild Horse, along with what they could do to help. Through the cooperation of AWHA and NWHA members, the public were actually able to meet, pet, have their questions answered, and even adopt a Wild Horse!

On Thursday and Friday, Metro’s Mounted Unit visited our booth, and appearing with the unit were: Gunsmoke and Maverick, both of whom are former Wild Horses.

Trainer Matt Replogle brought the Mustang he is training for the Extreme Mustang Makeover Challenge June 6-8, 2008 in Sacramento, California. Matt put on demonstrations with BAM (Beautiful American Mustang) for a thrilled audience of both young and old. At the end of the fair we all loaded up tired and exhausted, but with a real sense of achievement.

Special thanks to:
  • Shari Warren and her group from the National Wild Horse Association for providing the Wild Horses and providing adoption advice and assistance.
  • Shelley and Shane Logan for providing boarding for the horses when not at the fair.
  • Patty and Chelsea Hodge for donating 2 days of their time to help with the booth and horses.
  • Matt Replogle for bringing BAM out to demonstrate what these horses are capable of!
